FERC Licensing & Relicensing

Tacoma and Ames Projects Relicensings, Public Service of Colorado / Xcel Energy

Devine Tarbell & Associates (DTA) was selected by Public Service of Colorado / Xcel Energy, to be the lead consultant for the relicensing of their Tacoma and Ames Hydroelectric projects.

The 8 MW Tacoma Project and the 3.85 MW Ames Project are licensed by FERC, and the license expires on June 30, 2010.  These are two separate projects undergoing simultaneous relicensing efforts under FERC’s ILP. The relicensing efforts for the Tacoma and Ames projects started in 2004.

DTA has been involved with Xcel from the start, first with strategic planning and now with coordinating agency consultation, organizing existing information, and preparation of the PAD. DTA has coordinated the formation of RWGs to identify resource issues and needs, studies and their goals, and to review and comment on study plans. DTA is providing all regulatory and technical support to PSCo/Xcel for the preparation of the study plans and PAD including expertise to support assessing fish, wildlife, botanical, recreation and water resources, and land use.
